A Little Bit About Myself...
Hi! I’m Rodney! I’m a music director and audition pianist!
I’ve been a music director and pianist in New York City since 2011 and have played thousands upon thousands of auditions, vocal coachings, and lessons.
With the knowledge I’ve gathered over the past decade I’ve come to many conclusions and opinions about the industry of theatre and how to best present yourself as an actor.
I have worked at The Boston Conservatory as a music director, and Pace University as a vocal coach and music director. I’ve also played and worked at New York University, Boston University, Boston College, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School, International Vocal Arts Institute, and Berklee College of Music.
New York credits: Darling, Lady Monday, Hair, Xanadu, Great Wall, American Idiot. Regional: We Foxes (Goodspeed), Young Frankenstein (Theatre by The Sea), Silver Spoon (Nora Theater Company). College: BoCo: Kiss of the Spider Woman, Urinetown, I Love You, Because, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Zombie Prom. Berklee credits: Ragtime, Americana Tribute, Songs for a New World.
I work closely with several music theater composers in New York on new works, labs, workshops, and concerts.
I also music direct and perform around the country with Jay Armstrong Johnson, Nick Adams, Claybourne Elder, and Carmen Cusack.
Additionally, I am the resident music director for Actor Therapy LLC, a company started by Ryan Scott Oliver and Lindsay Mendez.
